The British asparagus season has ended for this year, but our hard work continues to prepare for the 2027 season. We expect to open the farm to customers again in late April 2027. See you then!

OK, I'm not the tallest of chaps but it's lovely to see the fern from a crop we ceased harvesting from one month ago, towering above me. Healthy, so far but if we don't get rain soon, lack of water will surely stress the crop. 😬

A strange one to end the season - two Immigration Enforcement Officers turning up to do a spot check after a 'tip off' we might be illegally employing oversees workers. Glad to say they left the farm happy and with a greater understanding of the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Scheme.
Someone clearly bears a grudge. Perhaps they bought a dodgy bunch of asparagus. 😉😂

Exciting news!
Our 2026 asparagus shop will be popping up, for you to pop along and pop in, on Saturday 18th April. We'll open the doors at 11.00am and will close them at 2.00pm.
Looking ahead, I suspect we should be operating our usual opening hours from next Tuesday.

Tuesdays & Fridays 1.00 till 5.00pm
Saturdays & Sundays 10.00 till 2.00pm

Making the most of a glorious day and vibrant autumn colours, I took a ride out up to the North Yorkshire Moors and made sure to stop off at the village of Lealhome for coffee and cake at the Village shop and Beck View Tea Room. And if you're wondering, "What's this got to do with asparagus?" Well, Gareth and Sally do sell our asparagus during the season. Even so, the coffee was good and the cake was delicious and well worth the visit.

Last week, we said to goodbye to our beautiful Ermintrude. At thirteen asparagus seasons old, she was a regular fixture and fitting of the farmyard and asparagus shed, greeting all our customers with a fierce (but not fierce) bark and always with a very waggy tail. The biggest danger she presented was to be quite a trip hazard as she loved to lay near our selling area.
Bless you gorgeous girl, asparagus season 2026 just won't be quite the same. 💚

The time has finally arrived when we need to call a halt to the 2025 harvest campaign.
